State's Glance talks about Yow
RALEIGH - N.C. State coach Yow Kay missed her fourth consecutive game on Sunday as her team fell 56-55 to South Carolina at Reynolds Coliseum.
Yow, who has coached with metastatic breast cancer since 2004, has said low energy levels have kept her from coaching since Dec. 22 when she missed her first game this season.
State associate head coach Stephanie Glance and the rest of the staff have filled in for Yow and operated as a support unit for the coach as she tries to build the energy to return.
"She's waiting to see how she feels," said Glance who called Yow the ultimate optimist in the face of this adversity.
Glance, in her 15th season with the program, took a few minutes to talk about Yow. Listen to that conversation below.
