The application period is now open for people who want to fill the District 9 vacancy on the Wake County school board.
School officials announced today that they'll take applications through Feb. 22 from people who want to replace Debra Goldman. The new board member would finish Goldman's term, which runs through November, and would have the advantage of incumbency in this fall's school board election.
The school board will schedule interviews with applicants with a vote expected to occur in March. This could give the board's Democratic majority a 7-2 edge.
Candidates must live in District 9, which covers much of Cary and was made, in theory, more Republican-leaning after the redistricting plan. People can plug in their address here to see which district they live in.
The applications must include a letter of interest that is no longer than five pages, a résumé and three letters of recommendation
Applications can be mailed to c/o District 9 Board of Education Vacancy, Wake County Board of Education, Crossroads 1, 5625 Dillard Drive, Cary, NC 27518, Applications can also be emailed to district9vacancy@wcpss.net.

Ahhh, but that's where the GA and McPope regime will step in to "level the playing field".
In the meantime, the screwed tax payers will plan to step forward and FIGHT LIKE CRAZED MAMMALS against any bond request from THIS school board.
