WakeEd

The WakeEd blog is devoted to discussing and answering questions about the major issues facing the Wake County school system. How much will the new Democratic majority on the school board do to undo the changes made by Republicans since 2009? Will the new student assignment plan be a hybrid of the last two models or primarily be a return to the use of busing for diversity? Who will replace Tony Tata as the new superintendent of the state's largest district? How will voters react to a likely request in 2013 to borrow potentially more than $1 billion to build and renovate schools?

WakeEd is maintained by The News & Observer's Wake schools reporter, T. Keung Hui. While Keung posts information and analysis on the issues, keep us posted on your suggestions, questions, tips and what you're doing to cope with the changes in Wake's schools.

Truitt congratulates Tedesco on election win

Bookmark and Share

Don't be surprised if you see pictures of school board candidate Cathy Truitt shaking hands with new board member John Tedesco.

Truitt unexpectedly crashed Tedesco's post-election gathering at the Heather Hills clubhouse. Tedesco was looking at the results outside the polling place when he unexpectedly got a start from Truitt, who tapped him from behind.

Truitt came by to offer her congratulations before she heads out of town Wednesday on her next educational consulting gig helping the troubled Detroit school system.

Tedesco was also joined at Heather Hills by fellow new board members Debra Goldman and Deborah Prickett. New board member Chris Malone was at home watching his kids but he did give a congratulatory phone call.

She called, then hung up

In true Cathy Truitt fashion, she called, hung up, called back and said she dialed the number wrong.

LMAO!

Oh, that made laugh so hard I cried. Thanks for the catharsis.

ROFL!!!!!!!!!!!

ROFL!!!!!!!!!!!

So pathetic it's hilarious

"Don't be surprised" if we see Truitt in the media again?

That's the understatement of the century. I think she'll even interrupt Kenye West's next acceptance speech.

Kudos to the BEST MAN WINNING. Get rest, bro, you're going to need it.
