The reassignment changes recommended by staff on Thursday should appeal to folks who've been lobbying hard for them.
The North Harrison Avenue families had been urging the school district to move them out from Panther Creek High to Cary High in 2009 instead of 2010.
Despite being a pair of small nodes, a number of Jeffreys Grove Elementary parents had come to the Millbrook High meeting to lobby against being moved to Baileywick Elementary.
Many sign-waving parents had urged the school board last week to move their kids from Carnage Middle to Dillard Drive Middle in 2009 and not 2010.
The node 448.1 parents had also been at last week's hearing at Fuquay-Varina High to argue they shouldn't be moved out of Middle Creek Elementary to the new Banks Road Elementary.
And, as noted in Thursday's article, at least one Southeast Raleigh parent had been urging Wake to not move her neighborhood from Smith Elementary to Middle Creek Elementary.
Officially, the board didn't take any votes on Thursday on the proposed staff changes. But no one objected when they discussed dropping the Jeffreys Grove moves.
