WakeEd

The WakeEd blog is devoted to discussing and answering questions about the major issues facing the Wake County school system. How much will the new Democratic majority on the school board do to undo the changes made by Republicans since 2009? Will the new student assignment plan be a hybrid of the last two models or primarily be a return to the use of busing for diversity? Who will replace Tony Tata as the new superintendent of the state's largest district? How will voters react to a likely request in 2013 to borrow potentially more than $1 billion to build and renovate schools?

WakeEd is maintained by The News & Observer's Wake schools reporter, T. Keung Hui. While Keung posts information and analysis on the issues, keep us posted on your suggestions, questions, tips and what you're doing to cope with the changes in Wake's schools.

Linking Anthony Tata to Glenn Beck

Bookmark and Share

Rob Schofield is calling this connection between new Wake County Superintendent Anthony Tata and conservative political commentator Glenn Beck "a worrisome sign."

According to this post today on the Progressive Pulse blog, run by the liberal N.C. Policy Watch, Schofield writes that Beck is the first person that Twitter suggests that followers of Tata might also enjoy following.

Most of Tata's recent twitters have promoted his appearances on Fox News to talk about military issues and his unsuccessful bid to win the Washington Post's "America's Next Great Political Pundit" contest. If he had won, Tata would have gotten a contract to write 13 political columns for the Post.

Digging deep

It is nonsense like this that only adds to the pile of proof that the agenda against Tata is forwarded by the N&O, articles, editorials, blogs.  Complete.

OMG!!! I just googled Tata!

OMG!!!! I just looked up "Tata" under google images, and I came up with hundreds of pictures of .........

Indian cars.

Does this mean that he is secretly a car, or an Indian?

(And my planned punchline was ruined, as that's NOT the type of image I thought was going to show up.)

Seriously, Keung, I'm not normally one of the ones who second-guesses the stuff you choose to blog about here, but shouldn't the subject matter at least pass the non-idiocy test?  Is that the best they can come up with?

heh.

Its blogworthy because it shows the length to which his opponents will go to discredit him. Imagine what will happen when they realize "Tata" is an anagram of "Atta," the most famous of the 9/11 hijackers.

I  also note that his last

I  also note that his last name ends in a vowell, is he another one of them eye-talians from up north?  Greg Flynn will have to update that Godfather parody logo he was using and add another string.

OMG....It's an eye-talian

OMG....It's an eye-talian conspiracy!

Good point. There seems to

Good point. There seems to be a pattern of bigotry from the the extreme left regarding those of Italian descent.

I thought he was Indian ...

I thought he was Indian ... like Tata Group ... www.tata.com

Sure you did.

Sure you did.

All the conservatives

All the conservatives commentators are "owned" by Fox so it should not be a surprise that they all support and tweet each other.

Hui's daily mud sling ....

Whats next Keung?  Tata's second cousin is named "Sarah" !!!

Are you hoping to get to ride on the lead float in the big February parade ?  Surely Orage can make that happen.

?

Slow day huh, to be sure there is something more relavent than this to write about.

Of course Schofield finds it

Of course Schofield finds it worrisome. This is not news or even a little surprising. Hell, he is a very proud ultra left-wing extremist who fears those -- like Beck -- who honor the Constitution and value individual freedom. Schofield is probably more than worried, he is scared to death.

Keung. I think calling N.C. Policy watch "liberal" is like saying molten lava "is a little on the warm side."
