Both the Civitas Institute and Public Policy Polling have been calling residents over the weekend for polls about the Wake County school system.
Civitas, a conservative Raleigh-based thinktank, hired a Georgia firm to poll people on the diversity policy. Francis DeLuca, the group's executive director, said the poll results will be available Tuesday.
It's an update on a poll Civitas did in June that found limited support for the diversity policy.
Public Policy Polling was asking people about issues such as the new school board members meeting as a group with Ron Margiotta before they were sworn into office.
It's unclear whether PPP was doing the poll for itself or a third party. The firm is run by Democratic pollster Dean Debnam, who formed the Wake Citizens for Good Government PAC that ran a TV ad against the winning school board candidates.

Surveys
Tue, 12/15/2009 - 08:54 — RichardAndersonIt will be interesting to see how the surveys are worded. Here is my little snark.
Civitas:
Do you support the WCPSS diversity policy that says that too many poor children makes a school unhealthy, causes frequent reassignment and results in long bus rides for many students?
PPP:
Do you support maintaining the WCPSS diversity policy which is nationally acclaimed for excellence, allows the district to spend less per student than other districts and stops segregation from occurring?
Yes, part of my job entails making surveys.

Face it, all four of your candidates lost. Actually, they got hammered. And your cheesy TV commercial probably did them more harm than good. The election is over. If you have any desire to build a relationship with the new school board, I doubt that attacking them with push polls will get you very far.
