WakeEd

The WakeEd blog is devoted to discussing and answering questions about the major issues facing the Wake County school system as it prepares to undergo historic changes. Will the new school board scrap the diversity policy in favor of neighborhood schools? Will year-round schools be converted back to a traditional calendar? How will the new board respond to  growth and the school construction program?

WakeEd is maintained by The News & Observer's Wake schools reporter, T. Keung Hui. While Keung posts information and analysis on the issues, keep us posted on your suggestions, questions, tips and what you're doing to cope with the changes in Wake's schools.

Children's PAC disbands, announces Wake school board endorsements

Bookmark and Share

The official death notice of the Children's PAC has been sent.

As was previously blogged about, the Children's PAC is shutting down and joining forces with the Wake Schools Community Alliance. This includes endorsing the same slate of candidates as the WSCA - Chris Malone in District 1, John Tedesco in District 2, Deborah Prickett in District 7 and Debra Goldman in District 9.

Now the same slate of candidates is being backed by the Children's PAC, the WSCA, Take Wake Schools Back and the Wake County Republican Party.

Here's the brief press release that the Children's PAC sent this afternoon:

PRESS RELEASE

The Childrens PAC has disbanded in an effort to align with the Wake County Schools Alliance. In doing so, the Childrens PAC announces its endorsement of the WCSA slate of candidates for the October 6, 2009 Wake County School Board election. The endorsements are: District 1 - Chris Malone; District 2 - John Tedesco; District 7 - Deborah Prickett; District 9 - Debra Goldman. It is our hope that these candidates will win their races and help refocus the Wake County School Board toward excellence for all students.
