Guess who's scheduled to come to the protest at Tuesday's Wake County school board meeting?
Dante Strobino has signed up on the Facebook event listing to attend the protest. Strobino is the 29-year-old Raleigh activist with a history of arrests who was among the three people arrested at the March 23 school board protest.
Strobino was scheduled to appear in court Wednesday on the March charge of second degree trespassing. But according to the Wake County District Attorney's Office, Strobino was a no-show at Wednesday's hearing.
Strobino has 20 days to request a new trial or face being charged with failure to appear.
Rakhee Devasthali, another one of the activists who was arrested March 23, is also signed up to be at Tuesday's protest. Devasthali, 22, a UNC-Chapel Hill student from Fayetteville, had her court date for the charge of resisting a public officer moved to June.
The third person who was arrested, Duncan Edward Hardee, 21, of Asheville, isn't listed as attending the protest. The former Enloe High student has his court date for a charge of resisting a public officer moved to June.
The attendance was light at the May 4 first reading of the student assignment policy. The question is how large turnout will be next week for the second reading.

Thu, 05/13/2010 - 21:35 — MissVIn 2010-2011 we face a major mutil-million dollar hole in the public school budget, increasing class sizes and little classroom support. When classrooms get out of control next year, these nimwits will then find another reason to try to deflect attention.
Can hardly wait until November when this craziness will be over and Jack Nichols and his crowd can limp to the sidelines.
MissV you are so right
Fri, 05/14/2010 - 00:04 — aquaman4life68MissV you are so right about that. I love the word "nimwits"...or I'd like to call them "halfwits". They just want the publicity and attention. I call them camera "whores". They are not there for the true issue at hand, they just want to keep stirring the pot and keeping the waves rolling so nothing will get accomplished.
