Tar Heels well represented on preseason All-ACC team

Four North Carolina players and two each from Duke and Wake Forest were voted to the preseason All-ACC football team.

Florida State led all teams with six selections while preseason favorite Clemson had three.

UNC, which went 8-4 in 2012, had two players each on offense and defense. Tight end Eric Ebron and tackle James Hurst were selected to the offensive team by the voters who gathered in Greensboro on Monday. Defensive end Kareem Martin and safety Tre Boston were picked on defense.

Corner Ross Cockrell and punter Will Monday were the selections for the Blue Devils, who finished 6-7 last season.

Clemson quarterback Tajh Boyd, the conference player of the year in 2012, was the leading voter-getter (59 votes) but there were no unanimous selections.

Receiver Michael Campanaro and defensive tackle Nikita Whitlock represented Wake Forest but there were no N.C. State players picked.

Too Soon

Here's a thought: how about we play a few football games before naming the (supposed) best players?

Too soon

It is only "too soon" because there are no wuffies on the team. Go pout on crack ride, bro.

Works for me.

We've seen how well these preseason picks work on the hoops side. Maybe not having anyone mentioned on the pigskin side means things are looking up.

Highly unlikely

Even though the pups only leave the state twice this year and have a cake of a schedule minus the two obvious dates with FSU and Clemson. Still, the team doesn't have enough on the team to win 7 games max.

Okay, but then they would not be called "Pre-season" selections.
