Welcome, ladies and gentlemen, to UNC Now – The News & Observer’s new blog dedicated to all things University of North Carolina athletics. I’m in Shreveport, La., right now getting ready to cover UNC’s game here against Missouri in the Independence Bowl. So consider this an abbrievated introduction.
Nonetheless, I wanted to write a few words in recognition of the “soft launch” of UNC Now.
First, my goal is to make UNC Now a daily part of your routine. I want you to visit. Comment. Make yourself at home. There’s no shortage of great outlets – both in print and online – that cover UNC. Along with those, I hope to make UNC Now a part of your reading rotation.
About what to expect: This will be a place for UNC news – but even more so a place where I offer analysis and commentary that goes beyond, and supplements, what you might find in the newspaper. Some of the posts might be short and quick-hitting. Some longer. Some will be stories. Others stream-of-consciousness thoughts.
You can expect a high volume of posts – morning, noon and night – about a variety of topics. Some will be serious. Some light-hearted. I hope that at least most of the time, they’re insightful and that you get something from reading.
Thanks for reading. I hope that we can build this community into something that keeps you coming back.
