What will happen to the NBC shows killed by Leno?

Bookmark and Share

So did NBC's new deal with Leno, giving him the 10pm slot every week night, just kill five NBC shows? That 10pm time slot currently hosts Law & Order, Law & Order:SVU, ER, My Own Worst Enemy, and Dateline. ER is over and Enemy is cancelled, so there go two dramas NBC won't have to replace. What about the others? Some of that SVU material is pretty dark for a 9pm slot, so will they move it to low-rated weekend spots? Will they cancel the original L&O? Move it all to USA?

As someone who generally prefers dramas or comedies to variety and reality shows (and who prefers almost anything to Leno -- sorry), I don't really consider this good news. It's interesting news, but I'm not sure I like it at all. This essentially means NBC is giving up the serious adult drama game.

So is Leno every night worth losing 5 original hours of programming a week?

Leno

I don't get why he "retired" (or whatever) from the Tonight Show if he's just going to come back in an earlier time spot. I'm with you--I can certainly do without him.

Regarding the original question..

"So is Leno every night worth losing 5 original hours of programming a week?"

Which is the original program? "Law and Order" or "Law and Order SUV"? "ER" or 12 other hospital dramas? "Dateline of 60 Minutes"? I've never seen or heard of "MY Worst Enemy" so I'm not sure which show it is cloned from....

Original

Pretty much every show on television is similar to another show or movie in some way. But you know what I mean. It will be interesting to see what kind of show Jay does, and if it will work. I've never been a big Leno fan to start with, but apparently a ton of people like him because he gets big ratings on The Tonight Show.

Hmmmm

I've considered watching Leno before but I'm never up late enough with the TV on to see him. Maybe now I'll catch him once in a while...but I kind of doubt it. Prefer Letterman anyway.

In other words....who cares.

10, as in 10PM EST?

other than my grandparents,
who is watching TV at 10PM?

Is Leno Talented Enough?

To pull this off at this time slot? Do we really care?

NO!

Good question.

Another question is will anyone notice?
