What to Watch on Wednesday: Season premiere of 'Survivor,' but about that...

Arrow (8pm, CW) - Oliver is shot and turns to Felicity for help. While he hovers between life and death, Oliver recalls a daring escape attempt with Slade Wilson on the island.

Nature: Cold Warriors - Wolves and Buffalo (8pm, UNC-TV) - Forget what's going on in Durham later. This Nature documentary explores the fierce hunting skills of the wolf pack as they stalk their crafty prey (in this case, the buffalo).

Survivor: Caramoan - Fans vs. Favorites (8pm, WRAL) and College Basketball: Carolina at Duke (9pm, WRAL) - The battle of the blues means no new "CSI" at 10pm and an abbreviated season premiere of "Survivor: Caramoan - Fans vs. Favorites" at 8. The "Survivor" premiere runs 90 minutes, so here are your options: You can watch the first hour at 8 and then record the last half hour at 2 a.m on WRAL, or you can watch the full 90-minute "Survivor" on WRAL2 (5.2 or TWC 106) at the regular 8 p.m. airtime. "Big Bang Theory" (a repeat) will air at 2:30 a.m. on WRAL and the new "CSI" will air on WRAL at 3 a.m. You can also watch tomorrow on CBS.com. There's more information about the scheduling at WRAL.

Modern Family (9pm, ABC) - Mitchell and Cameron throw a wild Valentine's party that leaves them wondering what happened the night before and why Dylan is their new housemate.

Nova: Earth From Space (9pm, UNC-TV) - A two-hour look at how satellite data is transformed into visual sequences that detail the interwoven forces that sustain life on Earth.

Southland (10pm, TNT) - Season 5 (of one of the greatest dramas on television) opens with John at odds with his new trainee, a veteran from Afghanistan. Meanwhile, Lydia tries to juggle motherhood and detective work, Ben associates with a shady band of cops, and Sammy gets caught up in a nightmarish custody battle.

The Americans (10pm, FX) - Stan investigates Robert's death, while Philip and Elizabeth discover that Robert had a wife they never knew about.
