What to Watch on Thursday: 'Parks & Rec' returns along with final season of 'The Office'

Bookmark and Share

SNL Primetime Election Special (8pm, NBC) - With Jay Pharaoh's new Obama impersonation and Jason Sudeikis rocking the the Mitt Romney, this should be an interesting half hour.

Up All Night (8:30pm, NBC) - In the premiere of a retooled Season 2, "The Ava Show" gets canceled, putting a strain on Ava and Reagan's relationship. Meanwhile, Chris decides to go back to work, and Reagan hires her brother to help remodel a bathroom.

The Office (9pm, NBC) - In the ninth and final season opener, two young employees arrive at the office and staffers immediately label them the new versions of Jim and Dwight. Also, Oscar mulls adopting Angela's cat and Kevin saves a turtle. As bad as this show had gotten over the past season or two, I still think this final run will be worth watching.

Project Runway (9pm, Lifetime) - The designers visit Radio City Music Hall and create  costumes for the legendary Rockettes. Debra Messing is the guest judge.

Parks and Recreation (9:30pm, NBC) - Leslie and Andy visit Ben and April in Washington, D.C., in tonight's Season 5 opener. Sens. John McCain, Barbara Boxer and Olympia Stowe have cameos (McCain's appearance is especially funny). Back in Pawnee, Ron hosts a barbecue for the P&R staff. I won't win any popularity contests for saying this, but Ron's "meat lover" shtick is starting to feel old to me. Ditto for whatever it is that Rob Lowe is doing. Still love the show, though!

Don't Divorce Me! Kids' Rules for Parents on Divorce (9:30pm, HBO) - Children talk about divorce and offer advice for parents to make sure kids are not manipulated, forgotten or mistreated when the time for permanent separation comes.

Wilfred (10pm, FX) - In the second season finale, existential questions are posed to Wilfred and Ryan.

Awkward (10:30pm, FX) - In the Season 2 finale, Jenna prepares for her trip to Europe as her decision about the boys goes public.
