Tudors (9pm, Showtime) - Season four comes to an end with Henry defeating a formidable rival and facing his own mortality. He is also haunted by the apparitions of his former wives, who gather for what appears to be one final confrontation.
True Blood (9pm, HBO) - Sookie may be an unwitting pawn in a plot by Russell Edgington, the Vampire King of Mississippi, to expand his influence. Also, Jason rides shotgun with Andy on a drug bust, and Lafayette uses fear to prove a point to Tara.
Scoundrels (9pm, ABC) - The series premiere of a new comedy-drama about a woman (Virginia Madsen) who tries to put her family of criminals on the right path after her con-man husband (David James Elliott) gets a particularly harsh prison sentence.
The Gates (10pm, ABC) - Another summer series premiere from ABC. In this one, a former city cop takes a job as police chief in the suburbs and works a missing persons case that has him investigating his new neighbors. It's darker than the silly ABC promos you've seen. 
Treme (10pm, HBO) - It's the 90-minute first season finale of David Simon's exceptional series set in post-Katrina New Orleans. Tonight's finale comes together in a devastatingly beautiful way. And the cast shines, from the Big Chief Clarke Peters (right) to Khandi Alexander, John Goodman, Wendell Pierce, Steve Zahn, and Melissa Leo. Don't miss.
The Real L-Word (10pm, Showtime) - The premiere of a new reality series that follows six lesbians in Los Angeles.
Also Tonight: Timothy Hutton's high-tech Robin Hood series "Leverage" returns for its third season premiere (9pm, TNT); Vivica Fox guest stars on "Drop Dead Diva" (9pm, Lifetime); Harry Hamlin guest stars on "Army Wives" (10pm, Lifetime); "Til Death" is mercy-killed aon Fox (7pm); a new Lifetime movie at 8pm;with Tia and Tamera Mowry (reviewed here), and Syfy has a two-part (4 hour!) movie tonight called "Phantom," starting at 7pm (check out Adrienne's review).
