What to Watch on Saturday: The pain is better if you have a cupcake

Bookmark and Share

I'm still in a bad mood about Pushing Daisies, so I almost suggested everyone watch the Lawrence Welk Thanksgiving Special and a Knight Rider rerun. But I ate a cupcake and calmed down a little, so here's what I came up with instead:

Great Expectations (8pm, WRDC channel 12) - It's definitely not about the intelligence of ABC Programming Execs, it's a modern take on Dickens' classic novel. Starring Ethan Hawke and Gwenyth Paltrow.

Saturday Night Live (11:30pm, NBC) - Tim McGraw is the host, musical guests Ludacris and T-Pain. If it's like the rest of the season, expect one or two good skits and the rest will be weak. DVR and fast-forward.

And there's a college football game at noon between some local teams. I can't remember who ... um, who was that... Anyway, tune in to WRAL at noon, if you dare.  By about 4pm, you'll either be very happy or you'll feel like I feel when I think about Pushing Daisies.

NCSU

Well, that's what they did last year...ended the season with a whimper. But I'm hoping they beat Miami!

I was going to say, Ms. Cain

that I felt like you. Since you've let it out of the bag. Congrats. I'm sad, was very cold (I was there), and have begun to get over it. Have you heard any news about the parade yet? I'm still steaming over that Pushing Daisies.

BTW, I used to be UNCAlumnus, but changed to the year of my graduation. I grew very tired of the old name.
Do you have to work everyday?

tv all the time

No rest for TV addicts...

Yesterday was a very cold day to sit out there and watch your team lose. Sorry you had to experience that "pushing daisies" feeling in Chapel Hill.

I've seen more wins than losses this year.

I can keep it all in perspective. I figured this to be a build 'em up year. It's called a football program. It doesn't happen overnight. I expect next year to build on this one, just as this one built on last year's 4-8 record.

football

That's a very grown-up attitude.

go pack!

I know!!! Impartiality be damned - Go Pack!! With all due respect to the Heels, who have had a really great season, I was VERY proud of the Woofies today.

Game

How 'bout that pack?!! Woof. woof. woof!!!

Go Pack!

Saturday was a glorious day!

We've stumbled this year, but this win (along with those over all our other NC rivals--ECU, Wake and Duke) make this season pretty sweet. Now, let's beat Miami and go bowling!

I'm pulling for NCSU to do well..

but I must be honest.. I see a let down vs. Miami. They will be out for blood because of the GT game.
