What to Watch on Saturday: HBO doc on gruesome 1983 boxing crime

Bookmark and Share

Face the Ace (9pm, NBC) - A new series in which amateurs take on World Class poker players for a chance to win up to $1 million.

Assault in the Ring (10pm, HBO) - A look back at the 1983 boxing match between Billy Collins, Jr. and Luis Resto. Collins was badly injured in the match, due to the padding being removed from Resto's gloves. Resto also admitted in 2008 that the tape used to wrap his hands was soaked in plaster of Paris, essentially giving him hardened casts under his unpadded gloves. The documentary includes interviews with Resto's trainer Panama Lewis, and Collins' widow. Resto and Lewis both served time in prison.

Dirty Sexy Money (10pm, ABC) - Karen and Nick finally profess their love for each other. Too bad Karen is pregnant with Simon's baby.

Austin City Limits (12midnight, UNC-TV) - A repeat of Wilco performing songs from their 2007 album "Sky Blue Sky." Let's hope they do another show soon for "Wilco [the album]."

luis resto

luis resto is not a cheater...while he may have chosen to do something in the heat of the moment, knowing something wasn't right, it was all through persuasion, and he did nothing wrong...he was simply persuaded...i can only hope he can free himself from the guilt that has plagued him for so long.
