What to Watch on Friday: Season 3 of 'Spartacus' begins

Kitchen Nightmares (8pm, Fox) - A visit to the historic Olde Hitching Post in Hanson, Mass., where the owner struggles with control issues.

Spartacus (9pm, Starz) - In the Season 3 premiere, Spartacus sees his army grow and deal a serious blow to Rome's fighting legions, which leads Roman officials to seek empire-saving funding from the aristocratic and ambitious Marcus Crassus.

Easter Island Underworld (9pm, National Geographic Channel) - A team of explorers and scientists is followed during an attempt to map a vast cave system beneath the legendary Easter Island in the South Pacific.

Dateline NBC (9pm, NBC) - The 1990 murder of a woman found in her Michigan comic book store is investigated, with new evidence adding an unforeseen twist to the case.

The Following (9pm, Fox) - If you missed Monday night's debut of this creepy new Kevin Bacon serial killer drama (Bacon plays an FBI agent), here's the repeat.

Banshee (10pm, Cinemax) - Banshee investors envision big-time profits from a mixed-martial-arts title bout being held at the casino, but the champion ruffles the feathers of Lucas and Siobhan and the event may be cancelled.
