What to Watch on Friday: 'Frosty' kicks off holiday cartoon season

Happiness is a Warm Blanket, Charlie Brown (8pm, Fox) - Er, I think he means a Warm TV. Anyway, the Peanuts try to persuade Linus to give up his beloved blanket.

Frosty the Snowman (8pm, CBS) - I guess it's officially time for the Christmas specials. Things start off tonight on CBS with the classic tale of the warmhearted man of snow who risks a meltdown from rising temps. Can he reach the North Pole in time? Narrated by Jimmy Durante. Followed by "Frosty Returns," "Hoops & Yoyo Ruin Christmas," and "It's a SpongeBob Christmas!"

Malibu Country (8:30pm, ABC) - Reba is upset when her former husband gives their son a new sports car for his birthday, despite the fact that he knew Reba wanted Cash to earn his first car.

Whisker Wars (10pm, IFC) - In the Season 2 premiere, competitors gather for the Ohio championships.

Broadway: The American Musical (10pm, UNC-TV) - A look at American musicals features looks at "West Side Story," "Funny Girl," "Hello, Dolly!," "Cabaret," "Hair," "Chicago," and many more. Includes recollections from Jerry Orbach, Chita Rivera and Steven Sondheim. Hosted by Julie Andrews.

A Haunting (10pm, Discovery Home) - A North Carolina couple call paranormal experts for help after they become convinced a dark force is messing with their children.
