Duke Energy CEO Jim Rogers (left) was the guest on Wednesday Tuesday night's "Colbert Report" with Stephen Colbert. Rogers appeared on the show to promote affordable environmental energy options.

Colbert asked Rogers if being called "the environmentalist energy company CEO" was an oxymoron. Rogers responded: "Job one for me is affordable, reliable, clean electricity, providing it 24x7."

Colbert: "Good, because I loves me some electricity. I never turn lights out because that's when the ghosts come out."

Tuesday night?

Josh Marshall (of Talking Points Memo) was the guest on Wednesday night's show. Maybe Rogers was Tuesday night's guest? (That episode would have appeared in reruns before the new episode premiered at 11:30.)

Tuesday night

You know, you're right, Raleigh. I watched it Wednesday night, taped from Tuesday night. Sorry! I'll make the change right now. I appreciate it.

hmmm

He looks alittle over dressed!!! The $500 french cuff shirt, the Italian suite and I sure he few up there on the company's private jet.

Duke's "Clean" Energy

Duke's claim to clean energy is a total crock! When interviewed on 60 Minutes, Jim Rogers couldn't provide clear, unambiguous answers to direct questions about how Duke Power is going to burn coal cleanly. The answer to every question was (paraphrased) "our power requirements are growing and our company has to expand quickly."
