VH1 begins 3-week Beatles block tonight

VH1 is beginning a 3-week block of Beatles programming tonight, starting with the Emmy-nominated documentary series on the band, "The Beatles Anthology."

The in-depth documentary series will simulcast on VH1 and VH1 Classic tonight, Sept. 2, and Sept. 9 at 9pm

Then on Tuesday, Sept. 1, VH1 Classic begins "9 Days of Beatles," showing a series of classic Beatles concerts and films. It begins with a Beatles Retrospective on September 1 at 8pm, followed by the band's classic movie, "Help!" at 9pm.

The Academy Award-nominated film "A Hard Day's Night" airs on Sept. 3 at 9pm. On Sept. 4, "The Making of Sgt Pepper" airs at 9pm, followed by "Paul McCartney: St Petersburg Live" at 11pm.

"John Lennon Live in NYC," John Lennon's last full-length concert before he died, will air on Sept. 5 at 11pm. On Sunday, Sept. 6, a self-narrated bio called "Imagine: John Lennon" airs at 5pm.

On Sept. 7, the landmark benefit show "The Concert for Bangledesh Revisited" airs at 8pm. That is followed by "The Concert for George" at 9pm, the tribute show which took place one year after the death of George Harrison.

"Storytellers: Ringo Starr" airs Sept. 8 at 8:30pm. The block concludes on Sept. 9 with the final installment of "The Beatles Anthology" simulcast at 9pm.
