Happiness is a warm TV

The Bachelor: Melissa says breakup "mutual," discusses leaked emails

Bookmark and Share

I know, I'm getting a little sick of this too, but it won't go away. And I'm not taking sides, but I'm starting to feel like the only person in America not outraged that Jason Mesnick ended his relationship with Molly Rycroft on The Bachelor. So what if it was on the air? Don't we watch reality shows for moments like that? It's not pretty folks, but those of us watching reality shows don't really have a lot of room for self-righteous outrage, do we? And as the Bachelor executive producer Mike Fleiss told Entertainment Weekly this week, they broke up on tv because it's a tv show!

All of that said ... I'm still checking out the talkshows whenever any of these clowns show up. Today it was Melissa in her first appearance since ATFR, and it was on Ellen.

Melissa and Ellen covered all the bases -- the "fairness" of it all, Melissa's new boyfriend, and the leaked emails between her and Jason.

Right off the bat, in the have-your-cake-and-eat-it-too world, Melissa tells Ellen that she understands that she "signed up for this" but she still doesn't think it's "fair" that she had to do all that on TV. Huh?

She also said she was not getting dumped on the After the Final Rose show, because "we had already ended the relationship and that was mutual." But she said she had repeatedly asked him if Molly was involved and he told her no. She said she also asked him if she was going to be blindsided by anything on ATFR and he also said no, but then when they got on the show he told her it was all about Molly. She says that is why she feels betrayed.

So wait...all that stuff that happened on ATFR before he told her about Molly -- the tears, the anger, the yelling -- what was that about if they'd already "mutually" broken up? Are we trying to save face here?

Also, Melissa is already dating someone else (whose name is Ty!), so she's fine, America.

And about those emails. She said that even though she told Jason on the ATFR show not to call her or text or her email her, she emailed him after the show to explain to him why she was so mad. So he wrote her back and now those emails have been leaked to Access Hollywood.

FYI: Jason & Molly are scheduled to appear on the Ellen show Friday.

Also, just as a little bonus, you can see Jason's ex-wife in this music video by a Seattle rock band.
