So You Think You Can Dance: Results Show

Bookmark and Share

Guest blogger Lenni G shares:

Who made it to the finale?  In a stroke of genius, the guest blogger became the "guessed right blogger" for both the girls and the guys.  But enough about me, otherwise known as "GB."  There was more to Thursday's show than just the results.

I loved the opening group number, "Send in the Clowns," from Tyce Diorio.  The ending, with Evan standing alone and waving, painted tears on his face, was a very poignant one.

It was so cool that the show highlighted the recently Emmy-nominated choreographers' routines, even bringing back the original SYTYCD dancers to reprise their performances.  Each of the four is spectacular, but I have to lean heavily toward Mia Michael's, "Mercy," with Twitch and Katee bringing new meaning to opening and closing a door.  It was also cool to see that, along with Twitch and Katee, the other dancers from last season - Jessica, Will, Chelsea, Joshua and Mark - have not lost a step either.  (That's dancespeak for "they're even better now".)

Jeanine, Melissa and Kayla came to the stage and Jeanine became the first girl to go to the finale.  Lil C deemed her "worthy indeed," declaring one must have a "voracious appetite for success," and that she certainly did.

The guys - Ade, Evan and Brandon - were next, with Brandon joining Jeanine next week.  As Mary said, "I believed in you from the beginning.  You have been proving yourself every week."  (Remember, Brandon was the guy that Lil C, and particularly Mia Michaels, had real issues with when the Top 20 were picked.)  WTG Brandon!  We all, and I mean all, love ya' now.

After solos from Melissa and Kayla, Cat announced that Kayla would be the second girl going through.  Melissa, dear and sweet to the end, thanked the show for a great experience saying, "I did things I never thought I could."  And don't forget, Melissa will live forever in our memories for her indelible portrait of a woman struggling with breast cancer, as choreographed by Tyce.

Ade and Evan did their solos and, as the "GB" had predicted, Evan became the last dancer in the finale.  Ade was very complimentary to the show and especially to his most-of-the-season partner, Melissa.  Hope these two pair up for some more dancing in the future - they are simply great together.

So, we have Jeanine and Kayla and Brandon and Evan for next week.  If the agenda remains the same as it has in the past, we'll see each girl dance with each guy, solos from all four, a girls only and boys only group dance, as well as all four in a group dance.  We are talking heaven here for SYTYCD followers.
