A Scotty McCreery iPhone app. Didn't see that one coming.
It sounds crazy but it's actually a pretty neat idea. The new app, which bills itself as "the official app for American Idol Season 10 Winner Scotty McCreery," is developed by BlueHaze Inc and promises to help fans "stay connected with up to the minute updates from Scotty."
The "Scotty and Me" feature, which allows you to take a picture of yourself with Scotty that you can share with your friends (see below), is reason enough to download the free app. (Can't you see the love in WarmTV's eyes?)
But there's much more to the app. There's a Scotty McCreery Trivia Game, the complete American Idol Tour schedule, Scotty's Twitter feed, a Fan Wall to share Scotty thoughts, the latest Scotty news, and more.
It also plays portions of Scotty's songs from the "American Idol" show (you still have to buy the full version).
BlueHaze has made apps for other musical acts such as the Kings of Leon and the Pixies, and of course, Lauren Alaina.
Right now, the Scotty app is free and can be downloaded at iTunes. It's compatible with iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad.
I checked around and couldn't find a comparable Blackberry app (if I'm wrong, let me know), but I did find an Android app, also by Bluehaze. It looks really similar but I don't have an Droid so I can't test it out. It's also free free free (for now).
