Happiness readers may remember a documentary called The Last One which we promoted here back in December. It's a fascinating look at an old moonshiner named Popcorn Sutton in North Carolina's Appalachian mountains. Popcorn made what he thought at the time was his last batch of liquor and allowed NCSU filmmaker Neal Hutcheson to document it.
Well, there have been some sad developments since the making of The Last One. Popcorn made one more batch and the Revenuers got him -- and now a judge has made an example of him. Popcorn was sentenced on Monday to 18 months in prison. Hutcheson was present for Popcorn's sentencing and reported on the ugly event. Read about it here.
