If you're in the mood for some extra-trashy TV this weekend and haven't been able to watch The Real Housewives of Atlanta because Time Warner Cable is too mean to give us Bravo, you have a chance on Saturday to witness those flashy divas of conspicuous consumption firsthand on OXYGEN. This is the third set of housewives featured in the series (Orange County, California and NYC got previous nods). Why anyone would agree to go on this show (or any reality show) is a mystery, because pretty much across the board, all these housewives end up hated and mocked by viewers. Critics have called the show tacky, embarrassing, sexist, horrifying, and demeaning. But viewers eat it up. I have never seen an episode so I'm curious. The Oxygen network, which shows reruns of RHoA, is starting a marathon Saturday at noon. Oxygen is channel 55 in the triangle.
