The Super Bowl commercial in which a crafty dog tricks a guy out of his bag of Doritos placed second in a national competition, scoring big bucks for the Raleigh production company who put the ad together.
The “Underdog” commericial by 5 Point Productions of Raleigh, won $50,000 from Frito-Lay and another $600,000 for being chosen as the second-place favorite among all Super Bowl ads by the USA Today Ad meter. The ad, which was filmed in Bond Park in Cary, came in second to the Snickers ad featuring Betty White and Abe Vigoda. In another review, Time Magazine gave the commercial a B-.
