Miss North Carolina a favorite to win tonight's Miss America title

Bookmark and Share

I know next to nothing about the Miss America pageant, but reports are that Miss North Carolina Adrienne Core is a favorite to win tonight's coveted crown.

Core, a 2010 graduate of N.C. State and a native of Erwin in Harnett County, and also holds the titles of Miss Raleigh and Miss Fayetteville. Core already won the Miss America preliminary talent competition earlier this week with a clog dance routine to "Soul Man."

Core is the daughter of Beverly Core and the late Charles Core, who died of cancer. She works with the Jimmy V Foundation for Cancer Research educating people about the importance of cancer research. (Great profile and interview from NC State.)

Other top contenders tonight are said to be Miss Alabama Ashley Davis, Miss Hawaii Jalee Fuselier and Miss Rhode Island Deborah Saint-Vil.

The pageant airs tonight at 9pm on ABC. It's hosted by Chris Harrison and Brooke Burke.

Below is a photo of Core doing her "Soul Man" routine.

It's a Beauty Contest. She is no Beauty.

The racial comment was a joke intended for the diversity supporters.

The NAACP complains about some things. But not others???

Not many bro's in beauty contests, pro hockey, & nascar.

Why?

Why does everything come down to race?

You are obviously a pig since you question the contestant's looks.

I think every race has been equally given a chance.

Don't we have any females that are better looking???

What was the racial makeup of the contest for Miss NC? Why isn't the NAACP complaining about these all white contests???

Why is "race" even a factor

Why is "race" even a factor or why do you even bring it up Alpha Male?   You are an idiot!
