"Man vs. Food" features Durham "Doughman Challenge" tonight

Bookmark and Share

"Man vs. Food" host Adam Richman came to Durham recently to recruit a team for "The Doughman Challenge." That's a quadrathlon with four-member teams competing in a relay of running, swimming, biking, and of course, eating. Adam held local tryouts to fill out the other members of his team.

The race hits five local eateries in all, beginning at Blu Seafood and ending at Daisy Cakes cupcake shop.

While in Durham, Adam filmed on Ninth Street and fell in love with a burger at Wimpy's Grill. Be sure to check out that whole Durham slideshow, but consider yourself forewarned that if you do, a burger is in your immediate future.

Adam also visited Backyard Barbecue, where he chopped wood for the cooker and chowed down on collards and ribs.

You can watch it all tonight at 10pm on The Travel Channel. The event benefits a youth leadership program called Durham Inner-City Gardeners.

By the way, this isn't Adam's first trip to the Triangle. Andrea Weigl wrote about his taping at Raleigh's Roast Grill back in February
