Happiness is a warm TV

Lost vs. American ldol: AI wins week

Bookmark and Share

Lost star Evangeline Lilly, who plays Kate, on the hit ABC series will not be leaving before the show ends its run in 2010 with the sixth and final season. Rumors that she was leaving the show swirled on Thursday along with the news that freakin' American Idol, with a second two-hour yawner of bad song choices, dusted the island dramatics in the ratings this week.

I don't like the thought that Lost, a highly entertaining brain-squeezer, riddled with eye candy like Josh Holloway, Naveen Andrews and Matthew Fox, doesn't dominate AI in the ratings. Lost will only be in danger of losing MY devotion if they let Ben Linus continue to wreak havoc then turn him into a good guy at the last minute. That guy needs to go down and I know how I want him to go. I'm making t-shirts: Sayid on the beach with a palm frond.

Also, I dig AI's concept as much as anyone and I watch it regularly but they kicked off my boy Jamar Rogers before the round of 36! Season 8 travesty. He was better than two of the six bodies already named for the final 12. (I'm talking to you Kris Allen and Michael Sarver.) Rogers, unlike UNC grad Anoop Desai, has no chance to get in with a wild card.

I'm working out my, "Are you kidding, Idol? Bring Back Jamar!" campaign. Here's his rendition of Hey There Delilah from Hollywood week (audio only). Here's a photo of Jamar mugging with buddy Danny Gokey, who did make it into the top 12 last week.
