Lester Holt takes you "Inside Secret Government Warehouses"

Bookmark and Share

When I first got the screener for "Inside Secret Government Warehouses" (Syfy, 9 tonight) hosted by Lester Holt, I thought it odd. Why would Holt being doing an investigative doc on Syfy?

But pretty quickly into the show, Holt clues you in. He's pimping for the mothership! The look inside secret government warehouses was inspired by Syfy's hit "Warehouse 13." It's not a big ol' promo, but scenes from the show are shown, and its mentioned several times. Nicely done, NBC Universal.

So, Holt lends his gravitas (and his nice way with a suit) to an exploration of whether the government has been keeping UFOs from us and what's the deal with Area 51, whether the Camp Hero State Park was a center for testing for mind control and time travel, and what are those Catholics hiding in those Vatican archives.

Holt isn't talking to a bunch of kooks; some legitimate government folks weigh in on the need for more transparency. A U.S. fighter pilot who was asked to shoot down a UFO in England reveals that the object was doing maneuvers he couldn't follow and that it eventually took off at about ten times the speed of sound. And then he was ordered to never speak of the event under the threat of jail. He only talks now because England declassified its UFO papers.

Indeed, there is a lot of that 'don't talk about this' stuff, and shut doors and stalling, lending to the idea that something is up with our government.  Do they think we can't handle the truth?

There aren't a lot of definite answers in "Warehouses" which is good because what would we do without conspiracies and government distrust? Still Holt and the gang give you just enough to keep you wondering.

And maybe get you intrigued enough about the topic to watch "Warehouse 13."

A huge assumption

I'm not really sure how you got all of that emotion from my comment and how you know what government I voted for but I'll just let that be another unsolved mystery.

50% .....

50% of all conspiracy theories are bogus ..... But which 50% ???   :>)

adrienne: you refer to "government distrust" in a CYNICAL manner.  OK, I'm fine with that.  My question to you - would you have done so during the previous administration?  Should all government be trusted or should we only trust the government YOU voted for?  Yes, I'm making an assumption with that comment.  :>)
