Kate Gosselin to guest host on 'The View'

Bookmark and Share

September 14 is shaping up to be a big day for talk shows.

First Oprah announced that on that day, the first new show of the season, her guest will be singer Whitney Houston. Ms. Houston hasn't done an interview in seven years, I believe, since the infamous 'crack is wack' chat with Diane Sawyer. So there's a lot to catch up on.

Now People magazine is reporting that Kate Gosselin will guest host on "The View" on the same day, as well as Sept. 15. She'll sit in for Elisabeth Hasselbeck, who is home with her new baby boy.

Indeed, an interesting assortment of folks will pitch hit for Mrs. Hasselbeck until her return in October. Among them Meghan McCain, the daughter of Sen. John McCain, on Sept. 9th and 10; LaToya Jackson on Sept. 16 and 18th, and FOX News Channel anchor E.D. Hill on Sept. 23 and 24th.

The View returns from summer reruns on Sept. 8.

Mark your calendars and set your DVRs.

Oh boy – if you love gossiping about people that no one should care about (and are in need of a hobby) – then this ought to tantalize you – because the non-news wires have been buzzing about Whoopi Goldberg slams Kate Gosselin.  Someone ought to – she's annoying, and comes off as less than what we'd call "intelligent."  Apparently, there was some sort of custody brouhaha, where cops showed up when Jon Gosselin was visiting his kids.  Kate apparently also filmed some sort of pilot – the only pilot involving Kate is one that bails from his plane which crashes into her.  If you really care if Whoopi Goldberg slams Kate Gosselin, then you should get a personal loan and find something to do with your time.
