Is "Entourage" still worth watching?

Bookmark and Share

I've been off the "Entourage" bandwagon for a few seasons now, and despite the slick promos from HBO, I can't get very excited about the seventh season, which starts tonight at 10:30.

New York Magazine has done a great job of breaking down exactly why the show has sort of ... okay, I'll say it ... sucked the past few seasons. Well, maybe "suck" is a strong word, but "bore" is not. And this show definitely bores me now. Yet, I'll probably watch the new season. Similarly, Time magazine's TV critic says that he can't "defensibly call it good," but he still watches because like the "Entourage" characters, he can't break out of his pattern.

So that's why we watch! The show is like a bad habit.

If you're still stuck in the Vince-Ari-Eric-Turtle-Drama pattern, Jeremy Piven thanks you. "Entourage" airs on HBO on Sunday nights at 10:30. In tonight's episode, Ari and Eric panic when Vince is persuaded to do his own stunts in a Nick Cassavetes action film. Meanwhile, Drama is desperate for work (a perpetual state for him) and Ari plants a seed for making a deal with the NFL.

Check out this season's promo below. It's slick, right?
