This one looks really fascinating.
Tonight at 9pm, HBO2 will air "Quadrangle," a documentary about two middle-class couples with children who, in 1969, essentially fall in love and embark on a crazy, four-way love affair.
The story is told by Amy Grappell, and her parents made up one half of that love-quadrangle. She uses home videos, photographs, and modern day interviews to tell the story, and not surprisingly, it's a story that doesn't end too well.
"Quadrangle" won the Honorable Mention Jury Prize at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival, as well as a bunch of other honors.
The trailer will hook you.

Try to hold back the anti-poly bias please?

Secondly, I urge you to consider holding back any anti-polyamory bias in your article such as phrases like "not surprisingly, it's a story that doesn't end too well." Not surprisingly? You could say this about any marriage these days, with the divorce rates being what they are.
Just because there are more than two people in a relationship doesn't mean they are any more destined to be unsuccessful. There are many many triads, quads, and so forth all over the world (including several dozen here in the Triangle that meet weekly) that are very successful and have longer durations than many monogamous couples.
(But at least you didn't do like many journalists do and get consensual polyamory confused with Mormon-style polygymy.)
You're right. I'm sorry.

The language I used in describing the film was colored by my interpretation the HBO synopsis and trailer, which left me with a sense of foreboding. The trailer makes it sound like one of the people involved was unstable going in. Either way, I'm anxious to watch it. Come back and comment after you've seen it and let us know what you thought.
