Former N&O arts writer Geoff Edgers is the star of a new Travel Channel series expected to air early next year.
In "Edge of America," Edgers (with the gun at left) will travel the country searching for off-the-beaten-path entertainment. A press release from the Travel Channel says some of the episodes will feature Tall Bike Jousting in Oregon, a Calf Testicle Festival in Oklahoma and Lobster Boat Races in Maine. (If you have kooky ideas for a North Carolina show, let him know!)
Edgers, an arts writer for The Boston Globe for more than ten years, also produced and starred in a documentary about his efforts to reunite The Kinks called "Do It Again." Edgers will continue his reporting at The Globe while he becomes a TV star.
We'll have more on "Edge of America" closer to the premiere date.
