Elizabeth Edwards will appear on "The Nate Berkus Show" during the show's premiere week in September.
According to a press release for the show, the Chicago designer made famous by Oprah Winfrey will interview Edwards at her Red Window furniture store in Chapel Hill and will also visit her Chapel Hill home (which is for sale).
Edwards talks to Berkus about moving past personal lows, such as her separation from her husband John Edwards, and about starting a new chapter in her life, focusing on her relationships with her children and her love of design. She will also join Berkus for a segment in his New York studio during which the two help another woman who is trying to reclaim her life.
Berkus said of Edwards: “I found Elizabeth to be incredibly honest, funny and just a pleasure to be around. Her passion to build a new life for herself is nothing if not inspiring. And, the fact that we both love design, gave us an instant connection. Being around her reaffirmed my love of strong women. They take their lives into their own hands and aren’t bound by any parameters or rules. I think viewers will be happily surprised by her candor, pure wit and love of life. To have the opportunity to sit with her and share her story, in her own words, is why I wanted to do my show -- so viewers can see not only who people are, but who they aspire to be. I believe aspiration can happen at any time in one’s life -- who better to demonstrate that fact than Elizabeth. “
"The Nate Berkus Show" will begin airing in syndication on September 13. We'll keep you posted here about times and stations.

Not dead news yet
Fri, 07/30/2010 - 23:16 — zebra370Brooke You are way more than a six. And your hairdo is cute. John Edwards is still news Don't we wish he were not. He seems to be in every National Enquirer (Perused discretely while standing in line at Walmart.) and of course that makes Elizabeth news. And doesn't she just love it.
Back at you
Fri, 07/30/2010 - 21:35 — bucknc1And I can't believe you thought, or lack there of, that this was worthy of reporting in a blog under "Happiness is a Warm TV."
Never, ever heard of "Nate Berkus show"... what network is even on?! Seriously.
A better blog would've been about the American Idol hiring/firing, the summer line up of programs like Rescue Me, Royal Pains, Warehouse 13, etc... then something about Elizabeth Edwards. Snooki deserves more press time than her and that's definitely not saying much.
We've written about all that stuff
Fri, 07/30/2010 - 22:02 — brookecain (author)We have written about all those things you mentioned. If you don't like the stuff we write about here, you certainly don't have to visit the blog.
Nate Berkus is a pretty well-known designer. He has been on lots of television shows and has his own line of home goods. You may even sleep on Nate Berkus sheets or dry off with a Nate Berkus towel! But just because you never heard of him doesn't mean no one else has.
As I said in the article, the show will be syndicated. That means it could be on any channel. Shows like "Dr. Phil" and "Judge Judy" and "The Oprah Winfrey Show" are sold through syndication, meaning they don't necessarily air on the same network across the country. That said, the most likely bet would be an NBC affiliate, but at this point I'm not sure.
Do not worry. I will keep you posted so be sure to come back here for all your important Nate Berkus and Elizabeth Edwards news.
Disgusting, profane comments
Fri, 07/30/2010 - 21:12 — brookecain (author)Disgusting, profane comments WILL BE DELETED. I've already deleted some and will delete more if I need to. Good lord, people. It's a blog post about a TELEVISION SHOW. Get a grip. Keep it civil or take it somewhere else.
And if you want to read about billion dollar budget short falls, I can't imagine you thought you'd do that in a blog called "Happiness is a Warm TV."
Yikes .....
Fri, 07/30/2010 - 20:36 — AgentPierceNo one has been any more critical of the Edwards saga and the N&O's relentless promotion of this woman .... and the N&O's compliant cover-up of the scandal.
That said, I wish my fellow Edwards-dislikers could be a tad less profane in their strident discussion of her. But, I'm only responsible for my own comments.
Making a note to never watch

THE Nate Berkus?
Fri, 07/30/2010 - 16:42 — SpocksBrainReally? Wow.
Never heard of him. Big score, though, getting the woman who helped cover up the affair of a man who would be vice president.
Elizabeth. Please. Have a little self dignity. Quit sticking yourself in the spot light. You are no better than your husband, trying to deceive the public that way. I do not feel sorry for you; I pity you.
