Durham's Only Burger wins Food Network contest

Bookmark and Share

Looks like America loves Only Burger! The Durham-based food truck Only Burger seems to have prevailed over Oklahoma City's Big Truck Tacos to win the top spot in Food Network's food truck contest.

The Food Network website took down the leader board section of the contest page showing who finished on top, but Only Burger announced just after midnight on Twitter and Facebook that they were on top in the contest.

Only Burger posted on Facebook: "We did it!!!! We closed out in #1, we'll get the official results tomorrow. For now, here's a word from Only Burger Brian: Durham, friends and family...I love you so much! Tom: Thank you to everybody who supported us, our community, our friends and our family. We couldn't have done it without you! Love you all! Go Only Burger!!!!!"

The winner of the Food Network "Great Food Truck Race" contest receives $10,000 and a chance to compete on the show next season.

UPDATE: Only Burger is still waiting for official word from Food Network, which wants to announce the winner on next week's finale of "Great Food Truck Race."
