"The Killing"
Mon, 06/20/2011 - 21:06 — reedWhat an ending--not what I expected. I thought the case would be solved and a new one would start next season. How long do we have to wait until Season 2? It's still a great show. Next week is the end of "Criminal Intent" .. no more Bobby Goren--my favorite character...
The internet needed a hug a yesterday
Tue, 06/21/2011 - 14:08 — brookecain (author)"The Killing" is based on a Danish TV series. From what I've read, the Danish series is 20 episodes long (AMC season has 13 eps), and about halfway through the Danish series, the events of this weekend's AMC finale take place. The rest of the Danish season is about uncovering the conspiracy behind those events. Not sure if the Rosie Larsen murder is ever solved, but I guess it is.
SO. Even though a lot of people were furious about the finale, it sounds like AMC is following the Danish show's map. I would expect season 2 to be Linden figuring out what happened and how/why Holder was involved, and how far up the deception goes. Like you, I thought the whole season was very good, and enjoyed the finale. I have no complaints. Sometimes in life, murders don't get solved at all! So I don't get the online rage yesterday (I'm not exaggerating -- people were raging) about not finding out who killed Rosie Larsen. I think a lot of viewers were already frustrated by the show's slow pace, and the lack of closure put them over the edge.
I'm also going to miss Bobby on L&O: CI. I hope he finds a way to be happy!
