Survivor: Tocantins - The Brazilian Highlands, 8pm, CBS
Survivor returns to CBS tonight and this time the hapless gang of castaways will struggle, strategize, and starve in the beautiful Brazilian Highlands.
Spicing up the competition in Tocantins are two hometown connections -- producer David Burris and contestant Sydney Wheeler (left) are both Raleigh natives. Read David Menconi's interview with Burris in today's paper.
Sydney Wheeler is a model, and as you can see here, Sydney is very beautiful. I think we're going to hear a lot this season about her beauty and how she's "not afraid to use it" to win. On the CBS website, Sydney warns that she's not "just a pretty face," and that she is not afraid to do a little backstabbing to win ("lie, cheat, steal, whatever it takes"). But let's face it, if you're not willing to do that, you shouldn't be on the show.
Raleigh viewers especially will want to tune in to see if Sydney can make it all the way. She even mentions her home in her CBS intro video, noting that she grew up "in the woods, in the sticks, playing in mud and puddles with friends." Awww. Raleigh is so flattered. That rugged woodsy upbringing will serve her well on Survivor.
Sydney studied interior design at The Art Institute in California. She says interior design is her "passion" but modeling pays the bills. She currently lives in San Diego.

Sierra wants to talk with Coach online payments.The next day, Coach is spouting his usual BS. Coach says that he can bench press 300 lbs. He’s a total git. I wonder why they have these great sweeping shots of him cheap web hosting. Sierra is scrambling to cover her butt. JT says that he’s happy to stick with the Warrior alliance. He’s happy to see Sierra go. Today, Sierra is at the bottom of the food chain. She talks with Tyson. Tyson enjoys seeing her scramble wireless internet.
