The National School Scrabble Champions -- Erik Salgado and Andy Hoang from Cary -- appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night, where they played a live Scrabble match against Jimmy and "Dancing with the Stars" contestant Lil' Kim.
The duo drew laughter when Andy told Jimmy he's giving some of his share of the $10,000 Scrabble prize to his church, his school, and then buying a present for his mom; Erik said he wants to buy a video game. Jimmy teased them about chatting (strategizing) during the game and then playfully tossed their notebook on the floor while placing his own tiles.
Erik and Andy handled the ribbing pretty well, but sadly, they didn't win their game against Jimmy. Truth be told, they had some pretty sorry tiles to work with. The camera revealed at the end of the match that they had a rack full of Es and Os and Us. Been there...
Jimmy and Lil' Kim got small trophies at the end of the match, and Jimmy told Lil' Kim he hoped her friends at the penitentiary were still awake to watch her victory.
