Canceled: "Ugly Betty" gets some ugly news

Bookmark and Share

ABC has informed the "Ugly Betty" cast and crew that this current season will be its last.

Now in its fourth season, the show is well past its prime (I was never a fan, personally). Plus, the ratings have been awful this season, so the cancellation shouldn't be a big surprise.

And with this much notice, the writers will at least be able to give Betty and her Mode colleagues some closure.

Sorry to see Betty go

But at least they gave her a decent shot, at least in terms of number of seasons. Not like they did to Pushing Daisies or NBC has done to any number of good shows. Buck up we can all still watch reality TV and Jay Leno.

Poor Betty

I still watch, but the show has definitely struggled the past couple seasons (and ABC's scheduling hasn't helped). I'll miss Marc, Amanda and Wilhelmina.

not right

So sad to hear this news about Ugly Betty! It is a delightful show with great writing and very funny characters. ABC you are stupid! And putting the show at 10pm certainly didn't help! How do any shows survive the way they are all constantly moved around, gone on hiatus for months. No wonder the big three networks are struggling.

Welcome to ABC

ABC is pretty bad about that. I will never forgive them for jerking around "Pushing Daisies" the way they did.
