This cancellation makes me sad, but I can't say I'm shocked.
AMC's "Rubicon" was a really smart thriller about smart people solving complicated mysteries. But it wasn't exactly action-packed. It didn't have any explosions or car chases or graphic violence or explicit sex scenes, so not that many people watched (there was one not-very-graphic torture scene, but it was too little too late for viewers). It's a shame.
At least they got to close the book on the main mystery that provided the plot for the season, although I was curious about how the evil consortium was gonna snuff out the newly clovered Truxton Spangler.
Now let's get James Badge Dale on another good show stat.

One man's "terrible" ...
Fri, 11/12/2010 - 15:24 — brookecain (author)This is a good article from "The Hollywood Reporter" in defense of "Slow TV," published before "Rubicon's" cancellation. The author acknowledges the pacing was glacially slow but ... "But there was nothing quite like Rubicon when it came to jettisoning action and flash in favor of languid pacing and prolonged, odd-tempo silence. And that’s a good thing. Because it’s rare. It’s daringly novelistic and thoughtful. It’s lovingly … slow."

Meh
Fri, 11/12/2010 - 09:41 — YasminahSorry, I found this show to be boring and most of the acting to be just terrible. AMC has scored big with Mad Men and Breaking Bad, but Rubicon was just not in that league.
