NBC will be casting for the 14th season of "The Biggest Loser" in Knightdale on Saturday, July 14.
That's right -- Knightdale. As Eastern Wake News reporter Andy Specht recently pointed out, that North Carolina stop is by far the smallest city in the show's 13-city try-out tour.
Maybe that's a good thing. Maybe that increases a person's odds of getting picked?
If you're interested in participating in the show, here are the details. The casting call takes place on July 14 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Rex Wellness Center in Knightdale (6602 Knightdale Boulevard). Those wanting to apply should be 18 years or older and need to have at least 85 pounds pounds to lose (though I can't remember the last time I saw someone with just 85 pounds to lose on that show). Be sure to bring a non-returnable photo of yourself to the casting call.
And because it's television, producers will be looking for people who are charismatic, so personality counts almost as much as heft.
The grand prize winner (the person who ends up losing the most weight overall) gets $250,000 -- and a new, healthy lease on life.
You can't line up more than three hours before the start of the open call, so don't waste any time showing up before 7 a.m.
