Betty White gets Emmy nomination for SNL gig

Bookmark and Share

It wasn't a major category, but it's still major news (to us). Betty White was nominated for an Emmy for her hosting job on "Saturday Night Live" this year.

That, my friends, is what they call "A Safe Bet."

White still has strong competition. She will go up against Elaine Stritch, Tina Fey, Jane Lynch, Kristen Chenoweth, Christine Baranski, and Kathryn Joosten in the Comedy Guest Star category. White's episode of SNL also got nominations for writing, directing, art direction, hair styling, makeup, lighting direction.

This is Betty White's 17th Emmy nomination. She has won four times (twice for "The Mary Tyler Moore Show," once for "Golden Girls," and once for "The John Larroquette Show").

P.S. The oh so predictable Betty White backlash on Twitter? Already sick of it. Move on, haters...
