John Edwards has to feel a teeny bit relieved that this time around, he was not the North Carolina politician getting the unflattering face time on "Saturday Night Live."
During SNL's "Weekend Update" segment last night, Seth Meyers said this:
"North Carlolina State Representative Larry Brown created a controversy this week when he sent an email to other lawmakers referring to homosexuals as 'queers' and 'fruit loops.' And the 'Larry Brown Gets Caught with a Male Escort Countdown' begins now!"
The Weekend Update video posted on the SNL site cuts off just before the Larry Brown bit, but you can watch the whole episode (or just clips) at the SNL site. Host Jane Lynch did a solid job and the episode had some funny moments. Lynch's monologue was good (she sang a "Glee" theme song all about Sue Sylvester) and the skit featuring Denzel Washington working in the Macy's returns department was hilarious. New cast member Jay Pharoah nailed Denzel. Pharoah also had a great Will Smith impression in the season's debut episode. Is it too much to ask that he be given a shot at Obama?
