Anderson Cooper takes on 'The Slammer'

Bookmark and Share

Isaac Cornetti, the owner of Raleigh's "The Slammer" newspaper, will get grilled by Anderson Cooper on tomorrow afternoon's episode of "Anderson."

The Slammer is a tabloid that publishes mugshots of people arrested in several areas of North Carolina and in six other states.

The topic of the episode is making money off of murder and about public shaming. Anderson asks Cornetti if he's doing the community a service or if the practice ruins people's lives. (Full disclosure: The News & Observer also publishes mugshots online here.)

"Anderson" airs at 2 p.m. on Fox 50.

Duplicated After Publish

Hope Mr. Cornetti points out that well after he began publishing for a dollar, that the N&O and WRAL began providing similar info on their websites.

Yeah, if the Slammer would

Yeah, if the Slammer would just limit the people it shames to Republicans and Conservatives like CNN, then Anderson would have no problem with them!

Pshaw

Anderson Cooper, poor little boy. Someone has interfered with his pandering and they must be taken to task about it.

Makes money?

Anderson Cooper makes money, too. More than the average American, and so much that's he's in Obama's 1% class.

And, he's going after a newspaper? Maybe he should go after the N&O next. It also makes money off crime, as do most others.

What the N&O doesn't do too well is investigate the happenings at Peace College or the attempted intimidation of former graduates about their free speech. News Channel 11 does a much better job because they don't mind asking the right questions nor do they mind asking those questions to N&O writer Rick Martinez whose answers were as laughable as most of his columns are.

But ... sorry, the N&O is tippy toeing around those issues. I wonder why!?
