Guest blogger Chloe Paterson was shaking her groove thing as she reported on AI:
It’s Disco Night! Ryan keeps reminding everyone that the judges saved Matt last week. The second Top 7 definitely needs the added pressure of knowing they can’t be saved and there’s already a double elimination tomorrow night…
Performing in the best spot (last), Anoop sings “Dim All the Lights” by Donna Summer. There are some good parts.
Lil’s up first singing “I’m Every Woman,” by Chaka Khan. She’s really in trouble. Thank goodness all the judges are commenting on every performance tonight! And Simon, people do tend to look sad when three judges have just finished telling them that they can’t choose or deliver songs.
Kris is back with the guitar! He sings “She Works Hard for the Money,” by Donna Summer. It’s an amazing performance and everyone loves it. The judges seem to be able to agree on everything other than which department Simon and Kris shop in. I hope there isn’t some underlying message here…
Danny is dancing in “September” tonight. Star power or not, it’s a solid performance. Paula screams that he’ll be in the finals. She’s probably right, but the judges are saying that everyone can sing well this season.
For the second time tonight (before Anoop's performance), someone sings a Donna Summer song. This time it’s Allison’s version of “Hot Stuff.”The vocals are amazing. The judges praise her singing; they clearly want her to do well.
All there is to say about Adam is that his performances are always amazing, and this one is no exception. His version of “If I Can’t Have You” makes all the judges swoon except Simon, who thinks it was only original and memorable, and that the vocals were immaculate. Aren’t those things the opposite of what Simon would say to insult performances? Well, Adam couldn’t have been better.
Matt’s performance of “Stayin’ Alive” is decent. There isn’t much substance to it, but he at least sort of stayed in tune. Simon tells Matt to get out of Idol Land, but the other judges love his vocals.
David Archuleta will be performing tomorrow night during the results show. Hopefully the right contestants will go home, but you never know.

Anoop
Wed, 04/22/2009 - 09:54 — wolvieHe can really sing, but it appears he may be in bottom three again..and with two leaving, that could be a problem for Anoop..My opinion is that he will receive a recording contract, just as others, that have been along in the past that did not make it..
