Happiness is a warm TV

"24": Kim Bauer, P.I.

Not Private Investigator. Perpetually Imperiled.

It's much cooler than the cougar incident, and it definitely is a nice twist. Wasn't Kim just supposed to come back to save Jack from a toxic death with her compatible stem cells?

These underground criminal types are master planners. They methodically planned the whole Tony defection/Muslim stealing/bomb on the subway plan and still had a plan B, in case it didn't work. Is it because Tony knows Jack as well as Jack thought he knew Tony that they knew Jack would send Kim away and that they should keep tabs on her?

Or is this one of those plot twists we should just experience and not really think too hard about?

The Janis/Chloe spat was delicious. I'd say Chloe won. First, she got Janis to admit her inferiority. Then, when Janis bested her, and demanded acknowledgement, Chloe gave her this tasty diss: 'Oh you don't know me, but if you did you would understand that this is the last place you should look for any validation." Then she pursed her lips and moved on.

The first daughter finally did something right and it got her in over her head, and just when she steeled herself to play it out, she ran into the only truly good person left on the show, Aaron. I wonder if former Secretary of State Ethan Canin will break into a dance when he hears her on tape setting up the death of Jonas Hodges.

Jack committed two acts of torture. Once it worked; on Tony, who is already dead (and doesn't do great I just don't care anymore face?), it didn't. Is that the truth of torture? Should it be case by case?

With so little time left in the day, will Jack be put in the position of killing Agent Walker (who at this point is going to have a migraine with all these Jack/Tony flip flopping)? Will Tony get away, leaving next season, reportedly the last season, as Get Tony day?

24 is losing me.

As a hard-core 24 fan since Season One ...... I told my wife mid-way thru last night that "I'm losing interest. It's not compelling any more." Oh sure, I'll watch next week's 2-hour finale because ..... just "because".

This season is better than last season only because last season was soooo bad. But 24 hasn't been the same since President Logan Season. Give me one truly despicable villain and keep him tormenting me (and Jack) every week.

Leroy Jethro Gibbs (NCIS) is replacing Jack as my #1 hero.
