Ashley Suarez-Ortiz, News Clerk, writes: So its Friday and once again I have found myself unable to work towards my goals... the reason this week, I caught a virus.

I went to the doctor Tuesday and she prescribed me some medicine that literally knocks me out whenever I take it. So I try to take it only when I need it.

You would think that I would feel rested and rejuvenated but I feel more exhausted and more drained each day.

I guess that is the problem with real life, things happen and all the plans you have are put on hold. Normally, I would become discouraged and give up on losing the weight but I am going to continue and hope that my persistence pays off.

Writing this blog for sure is a good motivator. I hope that someone out there can relate to what I am going through!

I haven't gone through and spoke much about just how much weight I would like to loose and all that. So I am going to focus on that now. I am not going to admit how much I weigh now because even I am embarrassed by the number but I would love to lose between 30 to 40 pounds. My problem area is my stomach, it is the one area I gained all my weight when I was pregnant and the one area I have been unsuccessful with when exercising.

I am glad that I am starting this as spring approaches because I will be spending more time outdoors as I take trips to the park with my kids and begin my normal walks around town. I enjoy walking around with my kids and visiting the different parks, playing games and just enjoying the fresh air. I also love going to the park near my apartment because it has a walking track as well as a bike path.

Until next week...

It is a marathon,...

not a sprint. And the course has hills.

Life does get in the way. However, I hope that you can stick with your plan and be flexible enough to "bend" with the life issues as it affects your weight-loss and healthy living program.

What I know is that dieting does not work for me. I have to eat. I just don't eat as much in one sitting and I do eat several times in a day. I found out that by doing that I could stave off the hunger drives that got me in trouble in the first place.

Good luck!

Very true...

That is very true, I normally eat lunch, a snack, dinner and a snack about a hour before bed. I usually am so busy in the morning that I miss breakfast, but I am trying to work on that.

Oh I understand

and commiserate.  I've got a good 50 pounds to release from this skin and I've stared at it for 10 years, surprised that it's there.  Now I've made it my year this year and thanks to a new support system at home, I've got the cheers in the background to possibly make this happen.  I'm definitely eating much less and healthier.  Now I've got to move these bones to whittle down this waist.  Yes, I carry all mine, too, in the belly.  Keep it up and I'll keep it up, too, ok?

You got it

I am all about having a support team. Its all about having the support and help sometimes, to help you when you are getting down.

I am still going!! And I hope you are too.

Ashley
