Kansas City was not good for my weight loss

Andrea Weigl, food writer, wrote: My trip to the Midwest was not good for my weight loss efforts. I stepped on the scale this  morning and it said 157 pounds.

That makes sense since I enjoyed Booches' hamburgers and Shakespeare's pizza in Columbia, MO and a taste of my husband's ribs at Rosedale BBQ in Kansas City. I did eat salads as often as I could when we were not hitting the regular highlights of our Missouri trips but apparently it wasn't enough to offset the indulgences.

I'm not going to let a couple pounds get me down. While on vacation, I got one good run in along a dusty gravel road beside soybean fields in rural Missouri. I hope to get back into the swing of things here in my running regime. Now that our garden is overflowing with tomatoes, squash and peppers, I'll be enjoying our summer bounty.

The only way to lose the weight is to refocus even when you falter.

MIZ

It was refreshing to read (tardy though it was) comments about Missouri BBQ and MIZZOU fare in my local paper!

Admittedly I did not eat much Shakespeare's but enjoyed Booches burgers and beer (and game pool of course!). My fave was The Sub Shop and also Chopped Cow (what was the name of that place?? Somebody's name?). Too many frosting filled cookies at The Bakery pushed me to my top weight upon graduation.

Thanks for the memories! I too went to MO for vaca this year but Gates is my BBQ stop.

OVERRATED !!!

Shakespeare's Pizza is hugely overrated.  Lives off its reputation from 20 years ago.

Best restaurant in CoMo is CC's at the Forum.
