The Wake County Sheriff got a nod from The History Channel. A segment from Top Gear America on police vehicles calls the department's 505-horsepower 2009 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 "the fastest police car in America." The car was seized from a drug dealer.
The full video is about 44 minutes and the Wake mention is around the 33-minute mark.
Chevrolet says the Z06 has a top track speed of 198 mph.
Top Gear doesn't drive Wake's Vette, but the show features the next generation of police cars.
